The Road to Winter Soldier is a tribute to one of the many people involved in changing the world that the history books leave out. As well as to highlight the fight of our brothers and sisters in Iraq Veterans Against the War who have returned from the realities of war to come home to a government that neglects them when they need healthcare and arrests them when they find the courage to resist and speak out.

some background...
I grew up in a working class family in Washington Heights,
a neighborhood in northern Manhattan. While I lived my
childhood relatively well compared to others around me,
the late years of the Clinton administration and the
intensified assault on living standards by the Bush regime
took its toll on my family. It made me start asking myself
questions like ”how come I need to qualify for healthcare?”
“Why are immigrants treated like second class people?” And
somewhere down the line, "what did the people of Afghanistan
and Iraq do to me that they now have to live under
occupation?”
My work with the Campus Antiwar Network (CAN) introduced
me to Bryan Casler and we then introduced him to IVAW.
The importance of providing soldiers and veterans with a
platform to speak out in dissent is crucial. It’ll be soldiers,
students, and civilians joining forces in solidarity with the
people of the occupied nations that ultimately bring an end to
the chaos of war.
